When I first put on Hair by Ty Segall and White Fence, I was not quite sure what to expect. I have always been a little wary of collaborations; just because one party usually trumps the other, and styles become misinterpreted, or just plain lost. Hair however, does not do that. It comes together as a nice stylistic representation of both Ty Segall and White Fence’s Timothy Presley. Though it is only 8 songs in length, Hair takes you back to the 60’s with its sonic manipulations, soaring ambience and varied instrumentation; then shoots you right back to the present day with its unusual song structures and lo-fi distortion. No matter what kind of listener you are, there is definitely something for your ear buds on Hair. … Read the full post

He has the pleasure of the gift of rhyme. … Read the full post

Age of Consent release new video for ‘Heartbreak’- and it’s everything we thought it would be
Previously on the site, we covered Age of Consent’s stream of their new single, ‘Heartbreak’, with the promise of a video to follow. Well, I’m a lady of my word, and I hereby bring to you said video. And guess what? It’s exactly how I imagined it to be. I do not recommend taking drugs and then watching it (or taking drugs at all, ahem), because you may end up convinced that you’ve travelled back in time to the 80s. See for yourself below : … Read the full post

We’ve collected a small list of some of the most creative, confusing, and downright crazy band names out there; just don’t tell your Grandma that you want the new album from Star Fucking Hipsters for your birthday… … Read the full post
